D16 T/OT Negotiations Committee (3 Positions)

Job Summary:
The District 16 Teacher & Occasional Teacher Bargaining Unit is currently accepting applications for three spots on the Negotiations Committee. Please note that these positions are not full time-release positions but may include some release days during bargaining.
​
The Negotiations Committee duties are assigned by the First Negotiator/Staffing Officer and can include attending Collective Bargaining Committee (CBC) meetings, assisting the First Negotiator/Staffing Officer as needed.
Key Competencies & Prior Experiences:

Knowledge of our Collective Agreement

Highly proficient organizational skills

Experience with survey development and organizing research projects

Expert verbatim note-taking skills

Ability to work with members in a collaborative, supportive way

Advanced understanding of utilizing Google Docs/Drive for organizational purposes
Time Commitment & Compensation:
-
$425 per semester compensation
-
Approximately five release days for the 2025-2026 school year
-
Approximately twenty to twenty-five release days for the 2026-2027 school year
-
Periodic evening meetings, occurring approximately once per month or every other month, as required
Selection Process & Application Deadline:
Expressions of interest are to be sent via email to Scott West, D16 T/OT DEO at scott.west@osstfd16.on.ca before Friday, February 27th at 3:00 PМ.
The Negotiating Committee will be elected at the T/OT Council on March 4th. Candidates will be asked to record a three minute speech to be played at Council, followed by a vote of the Council members.
